Dating from 5000 BC, the standing stones of Carnac are among the most important sites in European prehistory. With nearly 3,000 menhirs aligned over 4 kilometres, Carnac is known worldwide. Ancient legends and an exceptional natural heritage.
Carnac is also home to a renowned Prehistory Museum in the town centre and many other megalithic remains (St Michel tumulus, the Kercado Dolmen, the Moustoir tumulus) and a unique religious heritage, with a 17th century church, six chapels with devotional fountains.
